About The Artist

Growing up in a small town of Nagina, UP, India, intrigued me towards the intense color and culture of our land and , I always wanted to bring all the hues and shades of life on my canvas. My parents encouraged me to pursue my dreams since childhood, and I found the same from my husband Mahendra, who continues to be my biggest supporter, best critic, and constant source of inspiration.

I started painting full time since 1965. I completed my Masters in Drawing & Painting, from Agra College. My work over last 50 years, has given me a so much content, creative satisfaction and simply joy in all the paintings that I have made so far and even for the ones I am working on these days.
The ingredients that make a successful painting are the very same that go into watching a young child play with colors, as both bring inner love and much joy to all around. My brushes opened up a whole new world to me. I was able to make pictures of the things that matter to me. I'm not interested in painting too much the modern or the shocking; it's purely about what moves me as an artist and as a human being.

My paintings are diverse in themes and styles. I sketch & paint on various mediums. My paintings celebrate the romance of the traditional lifestyle whether it's folk, historical events, nature, portraits or simple imaginations. I'm as comfortable painting the figures as well as the landscapes.

I had been associated with the Sain's Painting Institute, as a founder, for a long period of time and taught intricacy to students of various streams of a Art from India & abroad. And I have held several exhibitions in various cities.
Also, Have participated in exhibitions held by the Rajasthan and Delhi Lalit Kala Akademi. I have also made paintings for the India Army (Jodhpur Base). I have been associated with the National Association of Blind, Raj Chapter. My paintings on the theme of blindness and eye donation were exhibited in a special exhibitions on eye held in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
